Cooking Italian in France

While visiting our friends in France, Bill promised to cook them an authentic Italian dinner.

(truth be told, we were having a bit of withdrawal)

Here are some fotos of the delicious event...in random order...(sorry, but once again, this foto thing on Blogspot has confounded me)

Anyway, hope you get the idea...Spaghetti alla frutta di mare...

Great Kitchen. Is that a brick oven?

  2. Funny how that withdrawal thing works isn't it? We have many Italian friends who LOVE to visit France -- until it's time to eat. We know, we know, there are lots of Michelin-starred eateries there and they've excellent but in the day-to-day, "let's get something to eat" visit to the local osteria type thing, things are very different from Italy. For some reason the French can NOT cook pasta properly OR make espresso! Welcome back to ITALIA, wish we were still there!

  3. Bobby, yes, that's a wood burning brick oven which, sadly, our friends use for ambiance, not pizza!

L&H, Yeah, we were especially missing the whole "BAR" thing in France. We loved the duck confit and the pate', steak/frittes etc, but the bagette with jambon and fromage doesn't hold a candle even to the prociutto panino at Autogrille. Viva Italia!
